Compliance
Is a PAT test enough for a welding machine?
No. PAT covers the supply side only. Welding power sources should be tested to BS EN IEC 60974-4, which also tests the welding circuit the welder is in contact with.
How often should welding machines be calibrated?
BS EN IEC 60974-14 doesn't fix an interval. Annual is the norm, and what most EN 1090 and ISO 3834 quality systems expect.
How often does LEV need testing?
At least every 14 months under COSHH Regulation 9, with records kept for at least five years. Some processes need more frequent examination.
Do mobile fume extractors need testing?
Yes. Any extraction used to control exposure to welding fume, fixed or mobile, needs a thorough examination and test.
What does the free audit cover?
Calibration, periodic inspection, LEV, RPE, gas equipment and PAT, checked against current regulations. You get a clear picture of where you're covered and where you're exposed. It's free, with no obligation.
Repair and service
Do you work on all brands?
Yes, all major brands. We're also an approved service and warranty partner for Lincoln Electric, Migatronic and EWM. Other brands, such as GYS, Jasic and Cobra, we supply and service, but warranty claims on those go through the manufacturer.
Will having you service my machine affect the warranty?
No. As an approved partner we service to the manufacturer's specification, and we carry out warranty repairs on their behalf.
Can you cover the machine while it's being repaired?
Our Gold package includes a hire machine as cover during deep servicing. Otherwise, our sister company Monarc Hire can supply one.
Do you service engine-driven welders and generators?
Yes. We service the engine and repair and test the welding and power side, on site or in our workshop.
Do you work outside Grimsby?
Yes. We're based in Grimsby, cover the Humber, Lincolnshire and Yorkshire, and work nationwide.

Can I open a credit account?
Yes. Email accounts@monarcservices.co.uk for an application form.
Do you publish prices?
No. Every package, product and job is quoted for your site and your volumes. Send us what you need and we'll come back with a price.
What are your opening hours?
Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30, Friday 08:00 to 15:00.
