Gas equipment inspection.
Regulators, hoses, flashback arrestors and torches wear out quietly. When they fail, it's a leak, a fire or worse. We inspect them to BCGA CP7 and CP47 and tell you what's fit to keep using.

Why it matters
The kit nobody looks at until it leaks.
Gas equipment sits on the back of a trolley for years. Regulators drift, diaphragms perish, hoses crack, flashback arrestors stop doing their job and nobody notices until something goes wrong.
The British Compressed Gases Association codes of practice set out how cylinder gas equipment should be inspected and maintained: CP7 for oxy-fuel equipment and CP47 for cylinder gas supply equipment.
Following them is how you show the equipment is maintained under PUWER and the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations, and how you stop an avoidable incident.

What we check
Every component between cylinder and torch.
- Regulators: condition, function, creep, gauges and age
- Flashback arrestors and non-return valves: condition and function
- Hoses: cracking, damage, correct fittings and crimps
- Torches and cutting attachments: valves, seals and nozzles
- Leak testing of connections
- Shielding gas regulators and flowmeters on MIG and TIG sets
- Items past their recommended service life flagged for replacement
What you get
Paperwork that stands up.
- Inspection record per item, with pass or fail
- Labels showing the inspection date
- Replacement parts quoted and supplied from stock
- Records held in OneArc alongside the rest of your compliance
How it works
Booked, tested, certified, remembered.
Book
Call, email or use the form. We agree a date that suits production and confirm what's on site.
Test
Our engineers test on site, or in our Grimsby workshop if you'd rather send kit in.
Certify
Certificate and sticker per asset. Anything that fails comes with the reason and a repair quote.
Remind
Everything goes into OneArc. We remind you before it's due again.

Common questions

Who's competent to do this test? Qualifications and competence
Which BCGA codes apply to my equipment?
CP7 covers oxy-fuel gas equipment such as oxy-acetylene and oxy-propane cutting sets. CP47 covers cylinder gas supply equipment more widely, including regulators on shielding gas. Most fabrication shops need both.
How often should gas equipment be inspected?
Regularly, with the interval based on use and condition. Many sites do it annually alongside their other tests. Some components also have a recommended maximum service life, and we flag those.
Can you supply replacement regulators and arrestors?
Yes. We carry common parts and can usually swap failed items on the day.

The rest of the visit.
Bundle tests into one visit and the shop floor stops once. Two or more services together also brings the price down.
While we're there
Need wire, tips or discs? We'll bring it.
We supply the consumables as well as test the kit. Add them to the order and they come with the engineer, matched to the machines we've just tested.
Free site audit
Would your workshop pass an HSE inspection today?
Most firms find out when they fail one. We'll walk your site for free and tell you what's due, what's overdue and what's missing. No obligation, no hard sell.
