Areas / Hull / LEV testing
LEV testing and fume extraction examination in Hull.
Hull's process, marine and fabrication sites are the kind of places HSE inspectors look closely at welding fume. Since welding fume was reclassified as a carcinogen, the expectation is that extraction works and there's a current report to prove it.

Hull
LEV testing for Hull firms.
We test fume extraction across Hull and East Yorkshire and leave you with a report you can hand straight to an inspector.
What you get
What's included.
- Thorough examination and test of local exhaust ventilation to COSHH Regulation 9 and HSG258.
- Extraction arms, hoods, on-torch extraction, ducting, fans and filters checked and measured.
- Carried out by engineers trained to BOHS P601.
- A written report with readings, results and what needs putting right, ready for an HSE visit.
- Required at least every 14 months for most systems.
Do you test on-torch extraction?
Yes. On-torch extraction counts as LEV and needs examining and testing the same as arms and hoods.
How often does LEV need testing?
At least every 14 months for most systems under COSHH Regulation 9. If the system has been altered, damaged or isn't controlling fume properly, it needs checking sooner.
