We test, inspect and certify your welding equipment and workshop against the standards that matter, and give you the documentation to prove it. Welding Plant Calibration/Validation
An uncalibrated welding set can't prove its output is accurate — which means you can't prove your welds meet spec. That puts your EN 1090 and ISO 3834 certification at risk, invites non-conformances, and can see finished welds rejected.
We calibrate and validate power sources, wire feeders and measuring systems, checking voltage, current and wire feed speed against traceable master instruments. You get a certificate for your quality file and a sticker for the machine.
Standard: BS EN 60974-14. Typically annual.
Periodic Inspection & Safety Test
Welding power sources draw and deliver current in ways a standard PAT test isn't designed for — so a machine that "passed a PAT" can still be electrically unsafe. Periodic inspection is the test that actually covers welding equipment.
Our engineers check insulation resistance, earth continuity and the functional safety features of the machine, identifying wear, damage or faults before they put an operator at risk. Every result documented for traceability.
Standard: BS EN 60974-4. Typically annual.
LEV Examination
Welding fume is a proven carcinogen, and your extraction is the thing protecting your people from it. If it isn't examined and it's underperforming, you're in breach of COSHH and exposing operators without knowing it.
We measure airflow and capture performance and check the system against its design specification, then give you a full report — so you know it's working, not just switched on.
Standard: COSHH Regulation 9. Thorough examination at least every 14 months.
RPE Thorough Inspections
Respiratory protective equipment that hasn't been examined gives a false sense of safety — a perished valve or a failing filter seal leaves someone breathing what the mask is supposed to stop.
We examine facepieces, valves, filters and straps and check overall condition at scheduled intervals, with records kept for compliance.
In line with COSHH. Examined at scheduled intervals by competent personnel.
Portable Appliance Test
Damaged portable electrical equipment is a shock and fire risk, and kit that fails a check is a straight breach of the Electricity at Work Regulations.
We carry out visual inspection and electrical testing with calibrated instruments, and provide traceable documentation for every item tested.
Standard: Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
Gas equipment inspection
Oxy-fuel and gas supply equipment degrades — regulators drift, hoses perish, flashback arrestors fail. Any one of those is a leak, fire or explosion risk sitting in your workshop, and it's exactly what an inspection is there to catch.
We inspect regulators, hoses, torches, gauges and flashback arrestors, checking condition, function and safety, and certify the equipment as fit for continued use.
